Commander 1, either gender
The Commander is the most highly ranked wolf of the pack, and gives the final decision on all pack matters. If the Commander is out of commission for a short period of time, the Generals can stand in for him or her during a pack meeting or hunt.
Lieutenant General 1, either gender
One of three Generals who oversee all pack activities. The Generals make sure that things are running smoothly between members and check to make sure that things are being completed (ex: food storage, the education of youngsters). May greet and accept new wolves into the pack.
Major General 1, either gender
One of three Generals who oversee all pack activities. The Generals make sure that things are running smoothly between members and check to make sure that things are being completed (ex: food storage, the education of youngsters). May greet and accept new wolves into the pack.
Brigadier General 1, either gender
One of three Generals who oversee all pack activities. The Generals make sure that things are running smoothly between members and check to make sure that things are being completed (ex: food storage, the education of youngsters). May greet and accept new wolves into the pack.
Colonel 1, either gender
The best of the high officers, the Colonel may be consulted by the Generals and Commander for input in pack decision-making. They are considered the voice of the lower wolves of the pack, and may represent them during decision-making or during pack meetings. They may also hunt, scout, or do other duties for the pack by free will. May greet newcomers and call for a leader without consulting the Master Sergeant. This wolf must have leadership training before attaining a higher rank.
Lieutenant Colonel 1, either gender
The Lieutenant Colonel is the spy of the pack, the wolf who gains information about the whereabouts, numbers, and goings-on of other packs and clans in the area. They report this information back to one of the Generals or the Commander. They may also hunt, scout, or do other duties for the pack by free will. May greet newcomers and call for a leader without consulting the Master Sergeant.
Major 1, either gender
In the pack, it is the Major's responsibility to keep pack morale up. They can do this by holding games or instructive hunts for the younger members of the pack, or get-togethers for the older members. They are also messengers, if a pack member ever needs to communicate with a member of different pack/clan. May greet newcomers and call for a leader without consulting the Master Sergeant.
Captain 2, either gender
The main duty of the Captain is to assist the younger wolves in the pack. They teach them skills such as hunting, fishing, skinning, shifting, greeting, and so on. This is an important task, as the pups are the future of the pack. May greet newcomers and call for a leader without consulting the Master Sergeant.
Lieutenant 1, either gender
The Lieutenant's duty is to take care of the things that fall behind and are left undone in the pack. If there is not a particular wolf to do a task for the pack (ex: a Sergeant to keep tabs on food supplies, etc) then the Captain fills in and completes that duty until that rank is taken by another. May greet newcomers and call for a leader, and it is not required that they consult the Master Sergeant.
Master Sergeant 2, either gender
The highest ranked Sergeant, the Master Sergeant is the wolf who keeps track of what the lower Sergeants are doing. They are advisers to the wolves who are ranked lower than themselves, and are charged with the duty of greeting and questioning prospective pack members and intruders.
Chief Sergeant 1, either gender
The Chief Sergeant is the wolf who keeps track of what the Sergeants are doing. They are advisors to the wolves lower than themselves. The Chief Sergeant's main duty is to hunt for the pack, and to plan ahead for later. They set food aside and are in charge of making sure that there is enough for everybody in the pack during harsher seasons. May greet newcomers, but must contact a Master Sergeant for later assistance.
Sergeant 2, either gender
The Sergeant is responsible for keeping the Basic Officers in line and instructing them in their rules and duties. He/she assists with puppysitting, hunting, etc, and reports to the Chief Sergeant. The Sergeant is also responsible for keeping stock of pack supplies and reporting back to their superiors if things get too low. May greet newcomers, but must contact a Master Sergeant for later assistance.
Basic Officer 8, either gender
The "beginner" rank of the pack, commonly given to new members. A Basic Officer has no real duties in the pack, but is encouraged to help with hunting, puppysitting, scouting, and other basic tasks. To move upwards in the ranks this wolf must show that they are capable of benefiting the pack in some way. May not greet newcomers.
Worm, either gender
Lowest member in the pack. In pack hunts, this wolf eats after everyone else in the pack, including the New Recruits and puppies. A Worm must win the trust and favor of the other pack members to gain or regain their place as a basic officer. That is their main duty.
Cadet, either gender
The Cadets are the official apprentices of the pack, and this is the official "adolescent" rank for those between between 7 and 12 months. If, during their time with this rank, the young packmember shows promise, they will be given a rank higher than Basic Officer when they become an adult.
Veteran 2, either gender
Wolves who have retired from the ranks of the pack are called Vetrans. Veteran wolves are well respected wolves who have a lot of wisdom to offer younger members of the pack, from their years of being a member.
Deputy Sergeant, either gender
Curious and inquisitive: A pup that holds the rank of Deputy Sergeant has a talent for asking questions and getting the answers. A high level of curiosity is key for a pup that could one day be a spy or interview the new members of the pack.
Petty Officer, either gender
Loyal and steadfast: These pups must show the kindhearted, patient and trustworthy talents of a leader. Even though they may not be the most confident and strongest they show the innate qualities that bring the pack together and keep it tight-knit.
Junior Brigadier, either gender
Agile and resourceful: Any young wolf that show talent in the art of tracking. A Junior Brigadier is an apprentice of sorts for the Sergeants, those who have a keen sense for hunting and scouting viable provisions for the pack.
Private First Class, either gender
Diplomatic and cunning: These are pups who shows great potential as a political figure within and outside of the pack. This pup would shadow those that hold council and have influence among the members, and with outside packs.
