Ranks are updated at least once a month. Rank evaluations are based on two things. Post count; those with a sufficient post count will qualify for a rank upgrade. IC Activity; if your wolf is ICly active within the pack, posting threads in the packlands and with CD pack members, then they are more likely to be looked at for a rank upgrade. If your wolf is not ICly active whatsoever, then it is doubtful that they will recieve a rank promotion because ICly the leaders would not know them and thus could not trust them with a higher rank. The number of threads one has is not taken into account, as rank promotion considerations are based solely on activity. IC'ily, ranks are primarily a political advanced and reflect a character's activity and helpfulness in the pack as a whole. Ranks do not reflect their abilities or talents: only how much they are in the pack or seen around.
Co-Ranks are IC recognitions of a character's talents. If a character excels at one thing, they may be encouraged by another member to seek a co-rank
1. The first thing that you do to begin to gain a co-rank is to private message James [Naniko D'angelo], Erin [Savina Marino] or Alli [Anu]. They will put you into the cache as a prospective co-rank earner.
2. Have three separate threads that involve your character doing something that is related to the co-rank that he or she would like to have.
3. Post the links to those threads into this forum, and James, Erin or Alli will either approve/dissapprove.
4. If approved, James/Erin/Alli will start a thread in which their character will grant yours the co-rank ICly. :]
5. Puppies may not earn co-ranks.
6. To earn a co-rank, you must be an active member of the pack above the level of Basic Officer. If your character falls to the level of Basic Officer or below, your co-rank will be removed.
7. Co-rank holders will be evaluated every three months. In those three months, your character HAS to have had at least one thread where they have done something involving their co-rank. If they have not, your co-rank will be removed.
8. Co-ranks may be reapplied for, but you must go through the entire process to regain them.
Borders and Greeting Newcomers
Wolves ranked Sergeant and above may greet newcomers at the borders. Wolves in the Leadership ranks may evaluate and accept newcomers into the pack.
Activity checks do not occur very frequently, but when they do, they are mandatory. Failure to reply to a mandatory activity check will result in removal or demotion. Activity checks will generally be in character, and are usually a howl, where a leader howls to the other members, but may be OOC. In an OOC activity check, each member needs to reply with a "here!", to just let us know that you're still around.
If you would like to take on a second character, PM a member of the 'Souls Assemblage requesting permission. Permission is only granted two weeks in advance, so be sure you are active when you ask. Permission will be granted so long the following requirements are followed:
1. You have been a member of the pack for one month.
2. You have been consistently active in the last month.
If a pack activity thread is required, it will say "manditory" in the title or inside of the OOC section of the first post in the thread. Failure to respond to a manditory Pack Activity/Pack Meeting could result in demotion or expulsion from the pack.
